What it does well
Transcription is reliable. On clear audio it is accurate, and it handles multiple speakers and common accents better than most. Fast, overlapping speech still trips it up occasionally — that is true of every tool in this category.
The knowledge base is the real product. Every call becomes searchable. You can ask "what did we promise the client about the deadline?" and jump straight to that moment. For teams that reference past conversations constantly, this is the feature that justifies the price.
Integrations are deep. Fireflies pushes summaries into Slack, Notion, and major CRMs, and logs call activity automatically. If your workflow already lives in those tools, notes land where you actually work instead of in yet another inbox.
Where it falls short
- The free plan is a teaser. You get a feel for it, but the automation that makes Fireflies worth using is gated behind paid tiers.
- Summaries need a good template. Out of the box they can be generic. Once you tune the prompt/template they improve a lot — but that is setup work.
